In March 2002, Robert C. Sturgeon founded RCS Trucking & Freight, Inc. in Virginia after discovering his passion for trucking while working as a delivery driver. What began as a single-truck operation was built on a clear mission: to deliver superior service while treating drivers with fairness and respect.
With firsthand experience supporting a family while living life on the road, Robert understood the challenges drivers face every day. His vision was to create a company where drivers were supported, customers received dependable service, and the standard was always to be “Flat Out the Best.”
Through steady growth and investment, RCS expanded its capabilities. In 2018, the company added Heavy Haul and Van divisions, strengthening service nationwide.
Today, RCS continues to grow its fleet, team, and reach while staying true to its founding values — Reliability, Safety, and Driver Focus.
